Hi folks...

Wondering and seeking some opinions.....

If someone new and young was wanting to start out breeding dark and white cornish bantams....who in your eyes would be a great person to go to..??

Any info would be great!

I recently saw Mr.Magers dark cornish in Columbus and wow, what a bird!
Might anyone have a picture of that bird?? (Neil??)

Thanks folks...looking to getting some good fowl and begin breeding them!

Regards.

You might want to join the international cornish breeders club.

My suggestion for White's would be Chris Tamayo out of CA. From what I see he is showing some numbers and doing well at the shows. Now that Ken Herring has passed and his birds have been dispersed, he would be my next guess. Henry does have some very good birds, along with Tommy McCrea and Jerry McCarty. By far as darks go Jerry has the best, but be willing to let the moths out of the check book. :D

Darks:
Mark Beasley, Tommy McCrea, Herman Hagwood, Anthony Ashley

Mottled:
Mark Beasley

Spangled:
Billy Sumner (Sum-Pip Waterfowl)

White:
Herman Hagwood--he got a good bit of Ken Herring's stuff.

Blue:
Mark Beasley

WL Reds:
Herman Hagwood, (and I think...)Tommy McCrea

Large fowl:
Herman Hagwood, Billy Sumner, and Jerry Smith.

Good Cornish, especially LF are getting hard to find.

For whites there are only a few people who would have any quality. Of course Henry has some very good birds but with the time of the year for shipping along with extra available birds you might not be able to get any. Most has culled through the young birds and right now is holding on to promising birds to let them finish out. Some may have a few extra's early spring.
You must raise so many just to get a few really good ones.
I would say that anyone who has cornish has the Mager line in them somewhere.
Where is Bret Smith located??

Have you investigated the expense & hassle involved with getting them into Canada ?

HI Evy,

I wont be doing anything to spring time...
SImply researching :)

Thanks for all the info folks...I greatly appreciate it.

There is a guy here in Canada who has some really good LF darks....maybe I will bring some down to COlumbus next year..

Can anyone tell me where Jerry McCarty or Tom Mcrea live or for that matter Mr.Mager??

Thanks again and happy holidays to all
