Hi Folks,
May I ask for general opinions on where to find the best quality large white Cornish? Dark are nice, too but I'm stuck on whites. Not looking for utility strain but exhibition. I know what to expect regarding Cornish fertility and egg production and I doubt things have changed much over the 35 years since I had these.
Thanks for any help possible,
FM

If you go to the ICBA forum and pose your question there I am sure you will get the help you want. I know of at least 2 breeders there that would be willing to help you.

These are helpful threads to try following, thanks! I visited a Dk Cornish Lg. fowl breeder somewhere near Erie, PA back some 25 years ago who had marvelous quality and obvious success with fertility -- all elusive traits among best quality Std. Cornish.
I'm not clear on how to contact Frank Reese to ask about Ryon the Cornish man. (?)
All the best,
F McDermott

OK my friends,
I have joined the Yahoo Cornish group, emailed Frank Reese and now we'll take each further step as it comes, no one in this activity expects it to come easy. I do appreciate your help and will report on any good results.
Large fowl Cornish were pretty infrequent layers and kind of slow growers when I had them in the early '60s so raising a crop of them off your best breeder stock was a big challenge, particularly from the blockiest birds.
I can't imagine that's gotten any easier, today.
Thanks again,
other Frank

If for some reason you cannot find the White Cornish you are looking for, have you considered Canada's only native breed, the Chantecler? As secretary of Chantecler Fanciers International, I can refer you to some top
Canadian breeders of the standard White Chantecler. If you decide to go that route contact me at: info@redstagacres.com .
