Bourbon Red female Turkey question

I thought i knew all bout bourbon red turkeys.
Just never seen this behavior with any female turkey until now.
I have a 9 mo boubon red hen. She was near my husband and our 8 yr old bourbon red tom.
the Tom was in strut mode. And the hen. was also strutting near my husband...... I have never seen any of my hens strut.....what gives with this behavior... Is it she is just a young female or what..?

Female turkeys do strut occasionally. Mine do often enough. I often see it when some other bird has annoyed the hen somehow. Maybe your husband or the tom aggravated her a bit?
