I would have problems dealing with a hatchery that lists Ameraucanas as brown egg layers. And did I read correctly that they don't ship chicks???

No, I think they do ship chicks.

Did anyone else notice that their list of breeds is almost identical to McMurray's? Maybe they just drop ship from McMurray's?

McMurray's doesn't have Columbian Rocks or the different types of broilers, hence the words "almost identical." Read the descriptions of the breeds that Lakenvelder has. They are very similar to McMurray's.

If they drop ship, they're losing money selling them for $2. ea., and paying MM almost $3. ea. Besides Lak Hatch doesn't ship chicks, they only deliver or sell for pickup.

Economics 101: companies that do contract with MM, or with anyone else for that matter, to drop ship, do not pay them what you and I would pay. They contract for a different rate, so they both make money by selling more chicks.
