The sheep & llamas are Mrs. McGinnis' hobby. It seems that Danny Padgett may be what the place needed. At least someone is responding to inquries & I hear that the quality of offerings has improved tremendously.

It can't be any worse than I saw when I visited and walked the place in 2005--an absolute mess. Danny knows birds and how to raise them and can only be a positive improvement. The idea Lew had was good and I believe his intentions were also, but at that time they did not have the facilities or the help to keep things straight. I saw some of the best examples of exhibition poultry in one place, but the facilities, help, and knowlege were'nt there.
There were sheep when I was there and they are known to have the best of the best in those breeds, but I don't know anything about sheep.
Now that Danny is manager, I would not hesitate to place an order.
Danny Padgett is the best thing that could have happened to a commercial hatchery--a real hatchery that has breeding birds--in the US.

Ditto what Brian said, as a 4H leader with a group of kids who want all kinds of birds I plan on using them as a resource for birds. Plus Danny travels back this way quite often as he exhibited some nice birds in Lucasville this fall, the Large Fowl White Cochins reminded me of the ones I had many moons ago.

I know he did buy top quality birds from all over the country. I see them in the poultry press sometimes. The birds they have on the website seem nice. But that can vary from breed to breed. I hope they do have some nice Orpingtons. I need more bloodlines.

Website looks good. Has anyone bought waterfowl from there? I know some of the best Birds went out there, I have heard stories of how many breeding pens have been put together and there are alot of wonderful birds there, I really feel that the breeders of the birds who Lew Bought them from should be recognized and the man who helped for the first few rough years. I am not trying to step on peoples toes but that's just the way i feel. I Do plan on putting in a order as soon as i hear some feedback about their Ducklings and Goslings. Anyone know where his Buff Sebastopols and Toulouse (Both Colors) came from? Thanks

Wow No one nothing to say to my comments? thoughts or Opinions? :? well i called them yesterday and asked how soon i could get ducklings and gosling and they told me not until April. so i guess i will have to wait until they hatch some.
