Good or Bad? NAIS?

So far I am hearing much to do with the NAIS... And so far I am not understanding what they are trying to do. I understand they want the poultry flocks monitered to stop the spread of AI but isnt that a good thing. I have herd that it will cause birds to die and breeds that are in danger will be lost. What do they mean by that? How are they going to track them?

Can someone help make a list of the good reasons and bad reasons, or help me get a better understanding?

Honestly, NAIS should never have been mentioned to the non commercial producers. Its cumbersome and costs the herd/flock owner money.

Participate in NPIP. If your state does its job and there's an out break of some sort they should be on the ball enough to alert you. TN does.
