Breaking a broody hen

My hen was broody and I put her in a wire cage with food and water. She layed one egg after 3 days, is she broken of broodiness?? Thanks, Joyce.

Yes, Her cycle was broken after three days in jail!

Ever hear "Mad as a wet hen"? My grandmother used to dunk a broody hen in a bucket of water. She would not set on the eggs while wet. About three dunks and she was done.
