The OHIO NATIONAL workers are all home now from from a weekend of showing and judging. This is the last weekend (or week for that matter) that we get to do anything other than work on the show.

Eric stayed home to collected the mail and was able to report that the entry exceeds 4,700 as of last Saturday night. He didn't have a breakdown yet but the waterfowl entry is nearly 1,000 head and it looks like the Call Duck National will be very well attended.

I was at the wonderful Lebanon show this weekend and excitement about The OHIO NATIONAL was running high there. And the Buckeyes that went to the Syracuse, NY show over the weekend said that many people there were excited as well.

If you are looking for birds to buy this should be the year! There are over 225 sale cages reserved and we anticipate having to set up over 300. The OHIO NATIONAL has the reputation among buyers and sellers as being probably the best place to trade in quality birds, especially the harder to find breeds and varieties.

The crew is starting to write the coop tags and judges cards today and since we are expecting to have over 5,000 birds they will be at it for a while. Like till a week from next Friday. So if you would still like to enter or add birds to your entry we can slip them in if you let us know right away.

To still enter you need to contact Eric Markley, Show Secretary, at 419 568 4704 or e mail him at markley@ohionational.org

Hotel resevations are still available at the Candlewood Suites. Rooms are $85.00 per night call 614-436-6600 and be sure to tell them you are attending the poultry show for this special rate. The Hilton Garden Inn is now booked full.

I'm looking forward to participating in the Ohio National, an event that's typically the biggest show in the country, year in and year-out.
