Hi, I'm going to purchase some portable electric fence for use around my poultry houses, both to keep my flock in and predators out. I know there are several brands, including Premier One. Can anyone give me a recommendation on what's best for the money?
Thank you!

Thanks, Evy. I saw this post prior to writing mine, but decided to ask anyway as that post did not address my question. I don't have a lot of money and I'm trying to find the best solution for the most reasonable cost. I don't want to do me or my chickens a disservice by purchasing less than adequate fencing, but I don't need the most expensive stuff on the market either! As I said, I've seen several brands including Premier...I would like to know if Premier is the way to go or if there's a lesser known but just as good alternative out there folks might recommend.

Peteif you have the time, skills, and materials you could build your own. Actually the Premier promotional materials give you a lot of hints about how they should be built when they point out why theirs are superior to others on the market. I know it found it very helpfull when I was building my own version.~gd

We've used the Premier, and I like it a lot, with the caveat that you must keep the grass trimmed around it or the charger won't charge it.

That goes for just about all brands. I guess there are some types of chrgers which will burn through tall grass, but that's more a matter of design or type of charger, as I understand it, not brand.
