Does anyone have the back of issue of Poultry Press with the article about dangerous geese? Someone stated that it was April or May 2006. My lawyer would like to review it as there was supposed to be something in there about a personal injury lawsuit. I was injured by a chicken rooster and have some permanent nerve damage and we would like to have the article for reference.
If anyone can find it I would truly appreciate it. I have also contacted the publisher, but won't know if they have it yet until next week sometime.
Thanks

KandBinMN, I may be totally off based but I'm an pretty sure the Poultry Press article never really existed. There was some playful (and quite entertaining) bantering going on between several posters on that thread. I think they whole thread lead into some attempts at jokes and (heaven forbid) playful sarcasm. Now, if anyone was really seen the Poultry Press article please feel free to jump in there and correct me ;).

I thought everyone realized it was a joke. ( I did check the PP to be sure though. There have been some strange articles there in the past ).

Some of it sounded way off base, but it sure did sound entertaining though.
If anyone out there knows of any lawsuits pertaining to injuries by any kind of fowl, I would love to know more though. This woman begged me to do her chores, knew that the rooster was aggressive, penned him in a lousy pen that he was able to escape from and then her insurance only paid $5000 and called it an accident only. I call it negligence. Her little vacation cost me a lot of money, and the best part is that she is an MD and says she can't afford to help me with the remaining bills. I ended up in the hosp. for two days and have nerve damage in my face. Some lawyers won't touch the case though because she's a Dr. whom they think a jury will favor, and also because I didn't have a bad enough injury to lose the eye or, have a visible scar - thus, not enough $$$ for them to persue it. Needless to say, she is no longer my daughter's pediatrician either.

Just curious, how did the rooster hit you in the face? I have seen roosters hit people on their legs but I don't think I have ever seen one get that high.

I crouched down just a bit to peek through an open doorway to check on some ducks that had left their nests and he flew/jumped up and bam. I received a blowout fracture of the maxillary bone under my eye.
