Chantecler Fanciers International will be sponsoring a Chantecler meet for the first time in its' short history. This will be in conjunction with the Ohio National this November. The club will provide awards for large fowl and bantams in three varieties: White, Partridge, and Buff - only members eligible for awards. New members welcome!!!

We love the Chanteclers up here in Wisconsin because of their hardiness and winter laying. I would love to have some of your Dutch bantams, but the combs would just freeze in the winter with my facilities. Maybe someday I'll have an insulated coop.

Yes, even here in KY I have to over-winter my Dutch boys in my garage. The girls manage ok out in hoop houses though, have only had to supplement with heat lamps once or twice in the five years I've had them.
Pea combs are one reason why I am increasing my Buckeye flock too. Have quite a few large fowl, and some bantams on the way. Much easier to deal with cold weather with a pea comb! :)
