Large fowl was a Wheaten Shamo pullet, reserve was a SC Brown Leghorn female

Did they really have large games staked and teathered on the lawn like fighting cocks?
Is that where they were judged?

They weren't actually staked and tethered on the lawn. They were in the trapezoid gamecock coops on the front lawn. That was an interesting sight . The American Games were judged on the lawn and then allowed to leave after the judging was over with.

I believe Dave Anderson said at the end there was 2700 birds from well over 200 exhibitors. It was a nice show, they seemed to work hard at making it a different type of show. I think this is a rather young club with a lot of new exhibitors. We had our club meeting on the beach. It caused some distractions but my wife kept me focused..........
As far as the American Game show. I believe there was a $10 entry fee and Sam Brush did the judging. They were cooped on the ground as Hummer said and Sam handled each one but they were caught by their owner. The Males were on one side of the yard and the females on the other. For me, as a breeder of Large Old English, it was quite a sight. Different but interesting.

As usual this club put on a great show. Nearly 370 head of waterfowl all displayed nicely. Over $500 in cash for the waterfowl, and the awards were very nice that were provided by the club. Lets face it, how bad couldit be when its's held on the beach! I have to tell you, I think the large Buttercups were the largest or one of the largest classes. I have never seen that before.
The next great California show with large numbers will be Stockton. because its in January, everything is in great condition so this should also be a good one.
