We are looking for poultry and waterfowl related worksheets for our 4-H club and haven't had much luck. What do other 4-H clubs use? We have books, but they are really not handy at most of our meetings. Most 4-Hers don't even bring them. I am looking for identification type worksheets and parts etc...We have a complete range in age in our club. 1st year through 10th year members. Just wanting something to kill time and is educational.

Jason,
Our 4H club has some hand outs that are helpful. I would be glad to send you some.
At our meetings each member brings a story or fact about one of their projects ranging from chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigoens, geese, incubating, cows, goats, etc. We also do a quiz on projects like ... Name two feather legged bantams? What is the ideal temp and humidity to incubate duck eggs, how long does it take, what about muscovey? Just Q & A type things. We look up things on the computer, even bring up things talked about on this site. We go over mite control espcially on silkies and other feather legs. Worming if needed, testing for shows, etc. One of our members that just turned 18 even went to get certified so she can test for shows.
We still have A LOT to learn but are getting an idea.
We also had a great support from our local poultry club. It's amazing how helpful some people can be. A great way to learn things is ask LOTS of questions at shows . Our last local club show we had a great judge that was very helpful. He offered lots of advice and answered questions.

email me your address and I will send you some of our handouts.
You can just make copies.
