2009 BCPPA Fall Classic

The New Ulm Fall Classic of 2009 was dedicated to Wilmar Vorwerk. Wilmar was a long time BCPPA member and just passed away this last summer. He was known for his blue Wyandottes and breeding the Vorwerk chicken. The show was held at the Brown County Fair Grounds in New Ulm MN.

We all woke up to the first snow of the season. Judges John Thomforde ,Gary Rossman, and Californian Eric Kutch were presented with 1,107 total entries. When judging was finalized, a Rhode Island Red cockerel of Adrian & Mary Ann Rademacher's was named the 101st Fall Classic Best of Show.


The showmanship winners were Gabby Ryan in the intermediate division and Robert Sterner of Prairie Song Poultry in the senior division.

The junior show winner was a Black East Indies drake exhibited by Robert Sterner of Prairie Song Poultry. Reserve champion was a Grey Toulouse Gander exhibited by Ian Ulvin of Kilmallie Farms. Champion Large Fowl by a junior went to the Durheim kids with a Light Brown Leghorn. Champion bantam by a junior went to Madison Wright with a bantam white cochin. There were a total of 243 birds entered in the Junior show by 20 exhibitors.
