LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Willie David Jones, Jr., 65, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Old Gilbert United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
Mr. Jones was born March 16, 1943 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008. He is the son of Maggie Lee Jones Hite and the late Willie David Jones. He was owner and operator of Discount Tire of Lexington. Mr. Jones was a member of the Navy Reserves. He was also a member of the American Poultry Association, American Bantam Association, Old English Game Bantam and the Modern Club.
Mr. Jones is survived by his mother; wife, Alice Faye Roland Jones; children, Connie Spitzmesser, Tammy Register, Tonya Jones all of Lexington; grandchildren, Christopher Evans, Miranda Evans, Alexis Bell, Dylan Bell, Tristan Register, Haley Register, Joshua Register, Joey Spitzmesser, Bradley Spitzmesser and Zion Gibbs; brother, Gene Jones (Bimbo); sister, Loretta Nettles; sisters-in-law, Jean Jones, Kitty Jones and brother-in-law, Ken Nettles; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; brother, Johnny Jones.
