Quail Question

I haven't been in the bird business in a long time. Do quail or any other bird have to be tested or have vaccines before I can sell them?
Can you sell the eggs also?
I want to raise quail and need to know if I have to be NPIP?

Every state is different. Many require that the birds be tested for pullorum. I would suggest you contact your state dept. of Ag to find out what is appropriate for your state.

You will also want to check if a gamebird breeder's permit is required. Here in Illinois if you are raising a "gamebird" type quail such as bobwhites you are required to have this permit. Twenty dollar permit allows you to raise and sell here.
