HI, haven't checked in here for a good while.I just had a ? about Tolouse geese.Doe's anyone raise these?If so how old are generaly when they begin to lay/We got ours as gosling's in March of this year.I figured it would be next spring at least before We got any eggs.Hubby went to get them up last night and one had left a suprise and she didn't want to leave it! :o .He finaly got her going and back to the pen.I am incubating the eggs so...Will see if it's fertile. :D Hoping for An Xmas Gosling.

I have been told it takes them 2 years to be mature. I'm new with geese myself. I bought some Toulouse goslings in June and an adult pair in October.
I also have a pair of adult white Embden geese.

Domestic geese usually will lay at 1 year of age. However, the fertility maynot be that good if your gander if young. If you are breeding wild geese like Canadians it may take up to 2-3 years before they will lay. I have had good success in the past with 1st year hens but then again my ganders were like 3-5 years old.
