It is hot. And muggy. Instant sweat. Chickens are doing fine, though. Alpacas are fine. Goats are fine. Steer is fine. Dog and cats are fine. Peafowl eggs are in the bator, I'd better be a good momma hen and turn them again soon. I'm getting more eggs now that it is warm. What is the purpose of a blog? It just assumes that everybody wants to read what you are doing. How silly. I guess it helps you get to know people. Internet is so very strange.
Had a storm last night. Planted new flowers in the chicken pot with some alpaca poo in it. I have a perpetual big sunflower in front on the chickenhouse that drops seeds and comes back each year. Pretty. I need to get back to work. Lunch is over.

Aside from the intence wind and stormy weather my weekend seemed normal, until(Dun dundunnnnnn!!) I had a special visitor.Yesterday morning I was out checking on my chick, Pertole, When I noticed three doves traped in the fenced over part of my run..I managed to get the two out, but the last one I had to catch, sence the thing couldn't get out like the others..I managed to snap a few photos of it before letting it go so I could wash my hands.I will post them in a topic as soon as I can upload them.

Americauna: Tot, has been a bit sick lately..She seems better this morning..I am still searching around for the sour crop medication..

Ducks: Also my my huge Pekin duckling has befriended my Rouen duck..They appear to be inseperable now.:D

The adult hens seem to be fine, but, for some odd reason, my speckled Sussex hen gets beutiful and then ugly, sorta in a cycle like thing. It is sorta weird.(She looks very nice in the winter, and ugly whenever it warms up..)

My roosters are as usual, either away from each other or, splitting the group of hens between each other. My silkie rooster has a silkie hen, but, he tryes his hardest to try to mate the hens who are like four times his size.
(It is quite funny to watch)

We have 7 eggs incubating and due to hatch this coming weekend.
A friends 'school' and 'preschool' project with live web cam!

After searching posts on Merek's, I decided I want to innoculate chicks.
(Is the vaccine injectable? or oral?) I assume injectable-and want to know how.

eg size of needle? site of injection? how deep or just under skin?
Will instructions come with vaccine for how to prepare/administer?
What is best age to do this?

and Thank you all for your posts! It's been a long time since I used this forum...

Searching ==> wealth of information! ...
... poster's names I recognized from 2003-2004 when I was online often!
Thank you!

even found supplier on one of the threads:

I went to a bird show in Beaver Dam, WI yesterday. There was a lot of chickens there but I didn't really see anything I liked. I went there looking for more oe bantams, millie fluers, and seabrights but came back home with a pair of Seramas, a young pair of White Face Black Spanish, and a free White Leghorn male that was free because the selling didn't like that his two toes aren't strait. Kinda excited with the Seramas! gotta love those banties! i missed an opportunity to pick up a pair of black rosecomb banties but oh yeah, next time.

also excited because my red unidentified banty pair laid another 2 eggs. woo hoo..thats 5 in total now.:p
