I thought I post here to let everyone know that the 2011 Delmarva Poultry Fanicers/ABA Semi-Annual Show Premium List has just been finalized. I will be getting a mailing ready throughout the week. If you would like an electronic copy sent to you, please shoot me an email at richbar@starband.net and I'll be happy to email you a copy asap. The show dates are March 5 and 6, 2011 and the show will be held in Harrington, Delaware. All the details including health requirements, hotels, directions, prize money and club member sponsered specials can be found in the premium list. Some people have expressed concern about the A.I. testing requirement, however contact information is given so you can get this done if your state does not offer the test. Feel free to email me with any questions. Rich

Why were results of this show not posted???
I don't get the Poultry Press. I am used to seeing the results posted here, like in the past. That's why I am wondering, why this year's results were not posted.
Evy, I did an article in the press on the show that had all the results. I'll see if I can find it. Rich
Yep...I remember seeing it. Funky should subscribe if he/she's interested. There's also Ann Charles excellent on-line publication http://www.exhibitionpoultry.net/. Color photos, excellent articles & not a word about kangaroos or ball games.
Yes, I agree. Anyone who is really interested in exhibition poultry would benefit from a subscription to poultry press and I'll add should be members of the APA or ABA or both. I don't raise bantams any longer but I still belong to the ABA and I'm a life member of the APA. The yearbooks are also good sources of information for people interested in the hobby.
I am a member of the APA and ABA, as well as Cochins International, Delmarva Poultry Fanciers and MD State Poultry Fanciers. I just find the Poultry Press too big/long to read much of it at one time. Too much crammed into a small thick paper, and I need glasses to read the tiny type in it. Not so with the club newsletters. I don't like the layout of the Poultry Press, it's not reader friendly, IMO. I think the results of shows should be available online (like here) or in the club newsletters.
Most of us buy it because it is the source of information on the shows. It is also a good place to see photos of the winners and advertisements that some of the breeders put in as well. I need reading glasses to read it too but I just bought 3 pair for 15 bucks so I can keep them around the house in places where I'm most likely to need them.
Goosedragon, Great minds think alike. Rich
Well, yeah, but the blind follow the blind too!
I used to have 20/20 vision, and was shocked (and bummed) a few years ago to find out I needed glasses to read. I guess once you hit 40 the eyes just roll downhill.![]()
