    Default Nesting Turkey

Ok heres my question : Is it difficult to move a nesting turkey generally. I have moved chickens before so it would be the same principle or will I run the risk of her quitting the nest. She is in a produce box now that is plenty big enough. I just wanted to move her into a large pet carrier until after the chicks hatch. Would this be a good idea or should i leave well enough alone? She is in a pen I just want to get her into something that will be a little more secure for her and myself when the poults start to hatch if they hatch. I set her first 6 eggs under a hen as a test sorta but they were no good 3 chicks did devlope but later died in the shell im guessing at about 2 weeks. This is also her first lay so that could be the resoning. Thanks in advance guys.

My guess would be she may be skittish as a new setter.
If she is in a protected place she would be okay.

Did you go to the turkey board
It has very good breeders there

I would'nt move her: as long as she is safe from predators and is out of the rain---- Greg

Thanks for your replys. I did go on and move her into the pet porter and she seems to be fine. Now lets see if any eggs hatch. I have never seem the pair mating but then again I have never really sat and watched turkeys all day either. Once again thank-you and thanks for the turkey forum addy
