That's funny. It shouldn't surprise you, the media rarely gets the story completely right. This should be published for every high schooler to see, as a good lesson to always take what you hear or see form the media with a grain of salt.

Hell, that is not Egypt, that is the 51st State, Iraq!
Don't get me started. Can you imagine what we could do with all of the money that we're spending on the war, and on other foreign aid? And where the hell was all this money before the war? Why didn't we use it then, for ourselves? Why doesn't the APA get a bailout? Our chickens are some of the most American things going; mom, apple pie and Plymouth Rocks!
My opinion is the map has been doctored somehow. I watch plenty of Fox News, they had reporters there during the rebellion and I have seen plenty of their maps on TV that correctly placed the country. The opinion shows like Hannity not withstanding, it's about the only actual news source where you can hear both sides of a story. I do like Greta Van Susteran's show, she is a native Wisconsinite. Somebody is playing games with that map.
That map/incident is actually a couple years old and was shown on the network. Fox then followed up with some excuse as to why the error was made. It was not much different then the past, and more recent incidents where rally footage was used creatively to create the story they wanted to tell. Again, Fox followed up with an apology and excuse as to why it happened.
This appears to be a thinly veiled attempt to denigrate and diminish Fox News. What has been presented only proves they have human beings working there. I didn't realize how poorly informed we all are until I started watching. You will find facts there that are overlooked or suppressed by the other national news networks.
Sorry, I didn't realize I had placed a veil over my intent. I never meant to.
Mike,
You have alot more faith in Fox and Rupert Murdock than I do. It's definately slanted to the far right which is ok by me but they took it off the breakroom TV at work because it offended some people and they replaced it with the Weather Channel. Now we know all about the weather all over the US and alot less about world events.
Funny, I never heard anything from FOX that even came close to reality. The map was no surprise.
And I suppose you think channels like MSNBC are not slanted to the far left??? How about Dan Rather and CBS with their fake documents about Bush's military record? Outright fraud. Give me a break. There is a reason Fox News is the most watched cable news channel; they present information the liberals are afraid to and don't want to. Because Fox doesn't fit in with the socialist point of view they will always be favored by those who prefer to hear both/all sides of any story.

I expect that cable's most watched news channel owns a world map & does in fact know where Egypt is. I would be more concerned about our President not knowing how many US states there are. During the campaign, in response to a question, he stated he had been to 57 states & only had two mor to go. Somehow MSNBC, CNN, et al didn't report that gaff with quite the vigor they might have had Bush said it.
Oh, & BTW, isn't he doing a wonderful job?
It's going to take more than 2 years to repair the damage W & company did over 8, especially with the currant Congress fighting to protect their corporate backers every step of the way.
Obviously, this is a topic that can quickly digress to the colorful and , oh so educated, comments often left below a Yahoo news story. I do not follow any single news channel as all of them tend to be biased in one direction or another. I have a mind and I use it to form my own opinions after much research from several sources. Otherwise, one simply becomes a lemming that believes whatever is said and can't wait for more reassurance from their "channel" that their way of thinking is correct. That is the reason that politics will never change- because people will never question their own parties. If people want to see a change in politics they need to stop looking to the politicians and realize that it is only going to come from themselves. Both sides have no regard for truth any longer. Decades ago, the norm was to dig up dirt on your opponent. Now, one needs only to completely fabricate a story and toss it out there into the media and millions of people see it within seconds. Doesn't matter if it is not true because the damage is done and then an explanation can be given or it simply gets buried by the next fantastical stament. The result is that political parties create their own reality and then rely on everyday folks to see that it sticks by not doing their own research to see what is truth and what is not. People today simply do not know how to think for themselves and are too lazy to do much more than bitch.

Baloney. It's typical of the far left to invoke class warfare wherever the ignorant will buy into it. What the H is wrong with corporations anyway? They are not humans, they are merely a convenient way of transacting business. Your local municipality is probably incorporated. While on the subject of "backers" what about the unions who are little more than wholly owned subsidiaries of the dems? They help elect the politicos who in return reward the unions with more and more benefits to the point where companies are driven out of the country or out of business and states are going bankrupt. Who do you think is going to pay the bills when all we have left are government employees? Oh, wait, I forgot. That's what the far left really wants, isn't it?
Just like I said...
Well put, Richard. I can see were it's useless to try to discuss it. I was a Republican from a long line of them ( who are probably spinning in their graves ). I woke up & started reading & doing my own research when we got lied into a war that seems to have no end.
I rarely watch TV other than Netflix, don't have cable, and lost even the local station when broadcasts went digital. I suppose I'll get around to getting a converter box one of these days. I honestly didn't know that Fox had this reputation for being so biased, because I've never paid any attention. I just have a general contempt for all media as rarely gettng the story right. Then, last week, a case in point which opened my eyes that my friends here are once again correct:

Can anyone here who has worked with large animals honestly say that they see the abuse, as exaggerated in the Fox News story? And since when do conservatives put any stock in what PETA thinks? I guess if it will further their agenda, they'll prostitute themselves that way. The story has nothing to do with animal abuse, and everything to do with twisting it to make one of their rivals look bad.
They don't show what happened first:

And then after:

Of course no mention that the camel was OK.
I know a friend of the camel owner. The guy in the video is a novice with camels. I could see several things that he did that were foolish mistakes, but not abuse, unless you work for Fox.
After all of this I ordered Outfoxed, the documentary which outlines many of Fox's tactics. Sure, it's probably biased too, but like the camel, some of the footgae doesn't lie. Bill O'Reilly tore apart the left wing son of a 9/11 victim, telling him that he KNOWS what the guy's father would have thought. Really? He's good, having never even met the guy when he was alive. O'Reilly then went on to say that the son said things in the interview that just were not there, and he continued it for months. I'm all for arrogance, if you have the facts to back it up, but what O'Reilly had been saying, and what was actually said in the interview were two completely different things. Fair and balanced? Yea, right.
We weren't lied to. There were WMD's, really. They're there somewhere, and we did get the guy that said some bad things about dubbya's daddy. Got him killed even, so that'll teach him. I'm glad that all of my tax money went for that. Until we do find all of those WMD's we have this law on the books that we have no use for, so we use it against our own stupid teenagers who like to play around in their garage trying to make things to blow up tree stumps. I know that I feel safer knowing that all of the tree stumps in my neighborhood are better protected. How many tree stumps have to be in danger anyway, for it to be considered a weapon of mass destruction?
I wouldn't expect anything better to come out of an area that keeps electing people like Barney Frank whose committee was responsible for oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and told us they were doing fine just before the housing crisis precipitated our great recession. Say what you want about George Bush, he tried to institute reforms but could not because of the Dems. W's policies also prevented any terrorist attacks on U.S. soil after 9/11. WMD? Maybe if Clinton had not cut back funding for the intelligence agencies we might have had better information to go on. Every major democrat in congress agreed at the time that Saddam had WMD. So did Hilary and our NATO allies. How quickly we forget. Patrick, for every bit of mud you sling against Fox, I could do the same for all the other major news networks, but I won't stoop that low. If anyone does not watch Fox News (and I did not say opinion programs) they are probably hopelessly brainwashed anyway.
