    Default Best duck for eggs?

This has probably been addressed here before but I could not find anything. I have only had experience with Muscovy ducks but now I want something that is good for egg production. Any suggestions?

Khaki Campbells, a light breed, are considered one of the best year-round layers, Pekins are a good dual purpose bird.

You can't beat a Campbell. Runners are good too. Metzer Farms has a hybrid commercial layer that I would try in a second, if I were only interested in eggs.

Khaki Campbell is probably the best by a couple of eggs a year. Welsh Harlequin are excellent layers, Runner Ducks are excellent layers. Golden 300 hybrids are excellent layers. There is a hybrid called an Oregon some-thing-or other (can't remember what it is called) that is an excellent layer. Silver Appleyards, surprisingly, are very heavy layers.

Basically, choose the looks and temperament you like out of the above list and you won't go wrong.
