Egyptian Geese ?
Has anyone ever raised or raising Egyptians ? Also what do you guys think of having them with my regular geese or is this a bad idea ? Any experiences would be helpful .. This is a white trio not sure if its parents and a yearling or what. Thanks in advance. My current flock of geese are Africans / white Chinese and Canadians and a single pekin male duck. Any ideas suggestions would be great.

If you should combine them keep a close eye on them until you are sure the pecking order wars have subsided. I have never mixed any like that. My little knowledge is of how mean geese can be even in the same breed to each other if there is questions about who is alpha.

They are not a species for the novice, especially if trying to mix them with other birds. They can be viciously territorial, and deadly aggressive, even to others of their own species. If by "regular" geese, you mean domestic breeds, you'll need to adjust your thinking a bit. While these do have some similar behaviors, they are a different species, with different requirements and habits. Like most other waterfowl, they are an interesting and beautiful bird to own, if their particular requirements are met.

Any suggestions on where I could find good info on their care and management ? I am going to keep them separated from the others. They are much to small to put with the domestic geese. They appear to be the size of Muscovy's with extra long legs. Everything I am finding tells me about the wild populations nothing to do with raising them. Right now they are in a pen that is 16'x 24' with a kiddie pool so they have access to water if they choose to bathe etc. Thanks again in advance.

You could put them with Swans & they'd take them on!! When she goes to nest, he'll even beat the crap out of you! I hope there's no small children around. I finally had to lure mine into an empty pen & call a friend from a waterfowl conservancy to come & collect them & their eggs. They'd even driven a big flock of Canadas off the river. Might be something for places trying to rid themselves of Canadas to consider.
BTW: I didn't buy this pair, they just showed up one day.

Ornamental waterfowl takes special handling and special housing. If you go into it like they are ornamental waterfowl and not barnyard fowl, then you will be fine. You do have to admit that they are gorgeous to look at.
