Patrick what you think, what you do, and the so called quality of your thoughts and standards is your business. Keep it in your house, your yard, your farm or business. Don't offer to impose your so called standards on other people. We are all individuals... we were not created in the likeness of your image. Thank God. Let people be people. It must feel good to think oneself as the top of intelligence. But... let me tell you it feels much better to be myself and not feel I have to pattern my thoughts, words and actions after some pin head. (thanks O'Reilly)

    Well,
Now that we've all insulted, and been insulted in return, I'll reiterate my original comment. This thread belongs on the Chit Chat thread, or at the BYC....not on the Poultry thread.

I do agree with you though there does seem to be some dumb posts. But heck , how can you keep it from happening ? There seems to be lots of dumb people that want to raise fowl now. But thats just me. All the bs and name calling aside I'll give an update on the buff orfington chicks. They have feathered well and when I took them outside, even though I had given them only scant attention beyond food and water they all ran to me at night fall to take them to their "roosting place" in the garage. After a few days all I had to do was put my hands down for them and all four would run up my hands and arms to my shoulders where they rode as we made our way to the garage. I have since moved them to the feed room where they roost in a nest box. The Silver Spangled Hamburg hatched 2 ducklings out of 3 eggs and took them out for the first time today. One saw a goose and followed. It was laughable to see the goose running from a two day old duckling. One if my silky bantams hatched 9 chicks. All silkys. I have people wanting pullets for setting eggs. I hope enough of them are females. Finally I have ducks wanting to set. One Cayuga is in the duck barn with 8 eggs and one mallard has stolen a nest out in the weeds with a dozen eggs. She isn't setting yet. Free ranging birds can be a challenge and fun.
