Note from Neil Grassbaugh about the 2009 Ohio National
As of this evening the entry at The OHIO NATIONAL already exceeds last years record breaking show of 5,300 birds. This will be the largest poultry show ever held that did not host an ABA or APA national meet. I am told that the Amerucana National Meet has a very large number of birds entered. There is also a heavy entry of large chickens. It sounds like you might as well come to Columbus, everybody else is going to be there. |

Whooot! Going to be an awesome show. I am quite looking forward to it! Going to have our first ever official meeting of the American Buckeye Poultry Club. And I'm also the host director for the American Dutch Bantam Society Eastern Nationals. Will be running from pillar to post the whole time, no doubt.
The OH National is my fav show, bar none. |

We ameraucana (note spelling) breeders DO support our annual meets. Stop by the club table and introduce yourself - we are a friendly bunch.

You are forgiven Neil. I forgot to mention we are also "easy." Actually, we have seen this word spelled about thirty different ways. Leggerns? Really?
My condolences to you and your family. |

The Ohio National 2009 is scheduled for November 14 & 15, 2009. This is a never ending process to bring what most consider to be the premier show in the United States today to everyone in the exhibition poultry world
Entries are now closed for the 2009 Ohio National. If your entry does not get to us by Oct 31 I am sorry your entry will have to be returned to you. At this time we are still counting entries but we have surpassed last years entries and are expecting over the 5,300 birds that were in the Ohio National last year. If you are interested in helping work on the set up of the Ohio National for 2009, we will start on Saturday November 7,2009 at the Voinovich Building on the Ohio State Fair ground at 9:00 AM Young or old there is a job and work for you at the show set up. Lunch will be provided by our culinary experts Neil Grassbaugh and Jeanne deSaaverdra Dennis and Sherry Myers along with others that bring in deserts and goodies for our lunch. We look forward to seeing everyone that can help with set up and are looking forward to another great Ohio National show Thanks Eric Markley, Show Secretary |

I am missing my annual PR Update from Neil Grassbaugh on the Ohio national for 2009. I know you were in New Hampshire but that is no excuse for keeping the public informed
Entries closed Saturday with a total of seven less than 5,800 birds to be on display. This will again be the largest poultry show of the year. It will also be the largest poultry show ever held without hosting an ABA or APA national meet. |

Weather Forcast for my southern friends! Unusually warm for November in Ohio.
Nov 13 Friday More sun than clouds. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 40s. Nov 14 Saturday Mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid 40s. Nov 15 Sunday Occasional showers possible. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s 5800+ birds in the show. Bantams are all double decked, over 1400 Large Fowl and Large Ducks. Biggest Show ever without a ABA or APA National. Several late entries sent back. See y'all there, give me a shout, will be busy judging Ameraucanas all day, ABA Q & A Session at 3:00pm on Saturday and Plymouth Rock Club Annual Meeting at 4:00pm on Sat. Any youth interested in a career in Poultry Science, Dr. Keith Bramwell from the University of Arkansas Poultry Science Program will be there to talk to them along with my daughter Emily, who is a freshmen student. Great opportunity if your interested in a poultry MattL |
