Default Best meds and wormer?

Hi all,

I finally decided to get a pair of peacocks (about six months old) and now I've heard so many different things that I'm not quite sure what to do. I live in south TX and I've been told that they have to be off the ground for their first year and if they aren't, you have to worm them every month. Is this true? And what kind of food/suppliments/vitamins/wormer do y'all reccomend?

Thanks for any advice,

Chad

Default wormer

I keep mine off the ground for around 3 to 4 months, I feed the a medicated gamebird starter then go with a gamebird grower for the first year then I give mine a egglayer pellets, with scratch grain and a little cat food and rabbit pellets mixed in.
I worm with safeguard goat wormer mixed in there water 3cc per gallon for three days and again in another 10 days I worm before breeding season, after breeding season and again before winter.
