Learn pysanky.com Ann Morash offers a wonderful tutor and great tips. Her selection of designs for beginners are more difficult than I would suggest for 1st eggs. Start with 1-3 colors and simple flowers, wheat, leaves, dots and sun designs before attempting to try out her beginner selection.
Making pysanky Nice how to with pix and dipping sequence
Step by step process Another how to with pix and dipping sequence. This tutor shows blowing eggs out before dipping. One will have to weigh the eggs down into the dye with this method. If you plan to blow your eggs I recommend blowing after the varnish step.

Don't get frustrated, most of those detailed eggs are made by pros with expensive elec. kistky and lathe. Here's catalog of eggs made with traditional tools, just right for beginners to try out.
